The School of Dentistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio has been educating dental professionals for more than 40 years. We believe in the acquisition, dissemination and use of knowledge toward the enhancement of oral health.

We are proud of our research scientists, who develop cutting-edge studies on pain and inflammation, salivary diagnostics, stem-cell regeneration of dental tissues, bone regeneration, dental public health and prevention and much more. We believe in service learning: Our students, residents and clinicians serve patients throughout San Antonio and South Texas to give much-needed oral health services to many who would be unable to receive oral health care (this information comes from the uthscsa.edu website).

The School of Dentistry has been accredited since 1978. The Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) re-accredited the school in February 2012; our next accreditation visit is scheduled for 2019.
